Voting Delegates – Church & Clergy

Congregational Voting Delegates

Every two years congregations from our Region are required to send representatives to join as a decision-making body to vote for new Regional Board members and consider any other Regional business.

According to the Bylaws of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Oklahoma, voting representatives from the congregation is based upon participating membership as reported in the latest Year Book and Directory. Please call the Regional Office at (405) 528-3577 to obtain this information if you do not have a Year Book.

  • Each congregation shall be entitled to three (3) lay voting representatives plus one (1) additional lay voting representative for each three hundred (300) members or major fraction thereof over the first three hundred (300).
  • Each congregation, in selecting its representatives, shall seek to maintain a balance of lay men, lay women, and youth.

Why Congregations Should Participate

Each congregation in our denomination is unique, and your congregation is an integral and unique part of our Region. Your congregation should participate in 2022 Regional Assembly because we are stronger when you are here! Together we make up the Body of Christ, and it is incomplete without your participation.

Your congregation also has an important story to share in regards to the mission that you do in your community. We won’t be able to hear about it and learn from you unless you are here!

Whether you attend in-person or virtually, your voice is important!
