2020 Experience – It’s Real! July 22 – 25, 2020 in Ft Worth, TX

Christian Brothers and Sisters,

You are invited to participate in a unique event taking place this coming July on the campus of Texas Christian University (TCU). The National Convocation, the Central Pastoral Office for Hispanic Ministries (Obra Hispana) and North American Pacific Asian Disciples (NAPAD) of the Christian Church, warmly invite you to this one-time experience in a combined national gathering.

In the spirit of our foundational scripture, Revelation 7:9-17, we will come together giving God praise as the victorious and triumphant Church. In this text, John the Revelator, is caught up in heaven and offers a preview of things to come for the Church from a heavenly perspective. We will become that countless host of worshippers from every nation and tongue, before the throne of God. This is a foretaste of the worship offered to God for the redemptive work of Christ Jesus and the Divine Presence of God through life’s journey. It is our prayer and hope that we will experience a little heaven on earth.

Along with vibrant and spirited worship we will have educational workshops, meal functions for fellowship, exhibits from our partners in ministry and sponsorship opportunities to support the success of this unique event. The members of First Christian Church in Ardmore celebrated their last worship service in the sanctuary located on Maxwell Street in Ardmore. These faithful folks have moved their worship service to nest with Northwest Baptist Church in Ardmore. They have already discovered gracious hospitality and new opportunities for fellowship.

Oklahoma Family Empowerment Center Honors Volunteers at Annual Dinner

Oklahoma Family Empowerment Center is an amazing ministerial partner in the Region. Oklahoma Family Empowerment Center held its Annual Dinner on Friday, October 8, 2019 at Harvard Avenue Christian Church. Rev. Dr. Sandhya Jha, Executive Director of the Oakland Peace Center, keynoted the event and praised OFEC volunteers with their work and ministry transforming the Tulsa community and healing the neighborhoods.

Several awards were given to: Rev. Leslie Dotson for Outstanding Community Volunteer and former OFEC Board President; Eric Copeland for Outstanding Client Volunteer; Officer John West for Outstanding Community Service; Deputy Monica Holloway for Outstanding Community Service; and Cordero Hawkins for Emerging Young Leader. The meal was served by delightful young people who are engaged in the camps of OFEC. We certainly celebrate Rev. Sharyn Cosby’s leadership with OFEC!
