By  Jennifer Cope | ABC 8 Tulsa | January 19, 2015

(Cherokee) First Christian Church Supports Summer Camp Program
Chi Rho Camp this summer will decrease in price, slightly, from last year.  Why?  The members of First Christian Church in Cherokee are paying the site fees for the 22 adults that will volunteer their time as counselors and directors.  This means the Region will not have to pass along the site fee cost for the adults to the campers that attend Chi Rho Camp.  Tom Stanley, pastor at FCC Cherokee, will be one of the volunteer counselors this year.  The Region celebrates and is grateful for this witness and generous stewardship.  To learn how you or your congregation can support the program ministries for Children, Youth, and Young Adults of the Region download the 2015 Funding Guide.

(Guthrie) Fires in Logan County Do Not Threaten Central Camp

Grass fires burnt their way through Logan County on Sunday.  Rev. Pam Holt and Rev. Michael Davison made calls to First Christian Church in Guthrie to check on their members.  At last report none of the members had been displaced by the fires or lost property.  Michael also spoke with Elisha Wheeler, Operations Manager at Central Camp, during the late afternoon and learned that the fires had not threatened Central camp.  Disciples pause to give thanks for the firefighters and first responders that battle fires in our communities and around the world.
