FearlessFaithWhat happens at a church camp or weekend retreat?  Great question.  A camp or retreat experience is a blend of play, study, worship, service, and prayer.  Each day participants live through these elements that help a young person discover God, deepen their faith commitment, and put their discipleship as a follower of Jesus into practice.  Camp Directors are beginning to recruit counselors for this summer’s exciting weeks of camp.  During June the Region offers church camp experiences for children and youth in grades 2-12 and this year we have 2 new camps.

Heifer Week is designed for youth completing grades 7-10.  This week is limited to 20 youth who, with 5 adults, will spend a week at the Heifer Ranch in Perryville, AR learning about how other cultures live, eat, and interact with first world nations.  It will be an eye opening and challenging week, June 5-10.

Kairos Camp is designed for youth in grades 4-8 and is hosted at Camp Christian near Chouteau.  This will be a traditional residential camp experience with small groups, games, crafts, keynotes, and worship and all the elements mentioned above.

Between February 8 and April 16 the Region offers discount rates, and between April 17-May 15 the regular camp rates apply.  If you are a member of a congregation in the Central Area or the Northwest Area your camper is eligible for a further discount through a grant from the Leave No Child Behind fund that is sponsored by Disciples’ Men in those areas.  You will find those rates when you register.

If you have questions during the registration process give Rev. Michael Davison a call or text.
