He offers connections to a variety of resources, and to other Disciples youth ministry workers in our Region and the denomination.

Michael earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Religious Studies at Texas Christian University and a Master of Divinity degree from Brite Divinity School. He was ordained into Christian Ministry in 1991 at First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Lubbock, TX.

Working with Ellen and the other staff, Michael manages the Region’s technology and communications systems. He works with congregations searching for a minister and assists clergy with the Search and Call process.

Michael previously served on Regional staff in the Kentucky Region with a similar portfolio of responsibilities.

Michael is married to Rev. Dr. Lisa W. Davison. When not spending time with Lisa, Michael enjoys golf, fishing, and tennis.

Ellen Spleth
Ellen SplethExecutive Assistant
Ellen is a Disciples “lifer” and grateful to be a part of the regional staff. Pastors throughout her childhood at Waukomis Christian Church were Phillips University seminary students, and her Spleth cousins are all Disciples ministers in Indiana and Illinois.

She owned her own marketing/ad agency in Stillwater for almost a dozen years, so she gets to tap her marketing savvy for the region.

A very proud G-ma to her awesome grandchildren, Ellen and her daughters’ families live in the Tulsa metro area. Ellen is an OSU grad, loves to entertain her Corgi “Daisy, and is an avid OKC Thunder fan.

FUN FACT: Ellen enjoys keeping up with OKC Thunder trivia.

Carrie CobbsAdministrative Assistant - Accounts Payable
Carrie is a third generation, lifelong Disciple. She grew up in Oklahoma City and earned
a bachelor’s degree from Phillips University. It brings her great joy when she discovers
a Disciples or a Phillips connection with someone. Working for the Oklahoma Region
has provided many opportunities for her to make those connections and see what a
large and beautiful family we are. She joined the Regional Staff in 2022.
Marla HensleyAdministrative Assistant - Accounts Receivable
Marla grew up in and now lives in south Oklahoma City/Moore. After spending 30+ years working for the State of Oklahoma and in the real estate business, she has been working with the Christian Church in Oklahoma for almost three years. She has a nineteen year old daughter and two cats. In her spare time she enjoys crafting, cooking and spending time outdoors.
